Ballast Nedam Wins Contract Amsterdam City Centre
Ballast Nedam has been commissioned by the municipality of Amsterdam to build a bicycle parking under the Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen in Amsterdam. After realization, over 2000 visitors can store their bicycle here.
Jeroen van Straten (municipality of Amsterdam) and Thom Hienekamp (Director Ballast Nedam Parking) signed the contract on November 9th, which also includes the design. The work on and under the Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen is part of the renewal of the nearby Leidseplein which will be made car-free. Due to the relocation of the taxi stand to the Leidsebrug and the construction of the large bicycle parking, pedestrians will soon get more space. To reduce the inconvenience to all parties during the realization (for example residents, entrepeneurs and the public transport) the work is carried out in different phases.
