CAME Parkare has successfully launched the Mobile Ticket Issuance in the city of San Bernardo (Chile) for regularizing parking in the streets.
The personnel in charge of the parking spaces have been equipped with a smartphone and a small portable printer. This initiative aims to make the parking experience and its payment easier for the user.
Users park their car and walk away. There is no need to pay in advance for the parking. It is the parking staff that is responsible for issuing a ticket and place it in the vehicle.
When users return back to the vehicle, they can choose into paying the stay immediately to the parking personnel or pick up the ticket and leave, deferring payment until the most suitable time during the working day. This method avoids users to waste time and overpayment for parking time not consumed.
This new system is also very useful, for example, for commercial vehicles which can park in different areas of the city depending on their delivering needs and defer the payment until the end of the day. Whenever the parking personnel issues a parking ticket, it gets linked to the vehicle plate number, so the previous ticket gets closed automatically. All day parking stays will be recorded in a database.
