ELKA Expands EJOIN IoT Portal with Anti-Passback Function

With the new anti-passback function, ELKA expands the capabilities of the cloud-based EJOIN IoT portal with an additional security feature for professional access control. In combination with the EntryTower, the function ensures that access credentials cannot be used multiple times or misused. This offers significant advantages wherever controlled vehicle access and traceable presence are essential. The system is specifically designed for the management and control of access authorizations and does not include ticket- or payment-based parking functions.

The principle behind the function is simple and effective: Once a vehicle has entered through an authorized access point, it is registered in the system as “present”. A repeated entry using the same license plate or QR code is only possible after a corresponding exit has been registered. This reliably prevents the multiple use of access authorizations while simultaneously increasing transparency within the access control process.

The anti-passback function offers significant added value, particularly in areas with increased security requirements. Companies, industrial facilities, logistics sites and sensitive operational areas benefit from more precise control over which vehicles are actually present on the premises. At the same time, the function supports structured presence tracking and can simplify organizational processes.

Management is handled entirely via the cloud-based EJOIN IoT portal. The platform enables location-independent access to all integrated access systems and provides a continuous overview of system statuses. Access authorizations, license plates and time-based permissions can be managed flexibly and conveniently via smartphone, tablet or desktop.

The EJOIN IoT portal and the EntryTower were specifically developed for professional vehicle access and security-related access applications. The focus lies on the secure management of access authorizations, the control of vehicle access and the reliable organization of entries and exits, particularly for applications with increased security and control requirements.

In combination with the EntryTower, this creates a modern overall system for intelligent access control. The EntryTower can be flexibly equipped with various technologies, including license plate recognition via EntryCam or a QR code reader. All components are centrally managed via the EJOIN IoT portal and individually adapted to the requirements of the respective site.

The new anti-passback function unfolds its full potential particularly in combination with license plate recognition. Vehicles are identified automatically and access authorizations are verified in real time. Following successful entry, the system automatically prevents any further access by the same vehicle until an exit has been registered.
