With the new Gatekeeper Dashboard within the EJOIN IoT portal, ELKA is expanding its digital portfolio with a configurable operating interface for monitored access points. The dashboard brings together relevant information and functions such as equipment status, access permissions, presence information, alarm messages, action logs, quick commands and calendar-based scheduling in one central cloud-based interface.

In modern access control, transparency for fast decision-making is becoming increasingly important. Which barriers are open or closed? Are there active error messages? Which vehicles are currently on site? Which access permissions are currently in use?

Designed for Everyday Operation

The Gatekeeper Dashboard is designed for users who need to monitor and manage access points efficiently. This may include gatehouse staff, security personnel, facility managers or employees responsible for operating access controls on company premises.

Because the dashboard is not a standalone program, but an embedded function within the infrastructure of the EJOIN IoT portal, its content is based directly on the data provided and maintained in the portal.

As the system is cloud-based, information can be accessed independently via a browser from any workstation which can be especially useful for external personnel.

Functions for Access Control

The Gatekeeper Dashboard supports daily operation by combining information, status data and operating options in one interface. Users can display the current status of connected barriers, view relevant access information, keep track of vehicles currently present on site and review the execution log for successful and unsuccessful operations.

The dashboard can also provide quick access to selected commands, such as opening or closing a barrier, supporting faster reactions in daily operation. This is particularly useful at access points with high traffic volume, where decisions need to be made quickly and based on reliable information.

In combination with the required technical devices, the EJOIN IoT Portal enables digital management of access permissions, such as license plates, QR codes, the MobileEntry app or Bluetooth tokens. Permissions can be managed centrally and adjusted according to specific requirements, such as time limits or defined numbers of permitted entries.

Depending on the assigned permissions and system configuration, the dashboard can also provide access to operational tools such as calendar-based scheduling. This allows gatekeeper users to schedule automatic device behavior, for example opening or closing access points at predefined times, applying special rules for holidays or triggering defined device commands.

Configurable Layouts for Different Applications

Every site has different requirements. For this reason, the Gatekeeper Dashboard offers different layout options that can be adapted to the individual use case. Layouts can be created for specific locations and structured with different groups. This allows operators to build tailored dashboard views for different access points, areas or operational situations.

For example, one layout may focus on the status of connected barriers and alarm messages, while another may focus on access permissions, presence information or scheduled actions.

User Roles and Restricted Access

The Gatekeeper Dashboard can also be adapted to different user structures. By assigning different user roles, access can be limited to the dashboard area of the portal. Dashboard layouts can be assigned to individual users or user roles.

This allows operators to provide selected users, such as external security personnel, gatehouse staff or service partners, with exactly the information and operating options they need without granting access to all portal functions.
