Citea parking ticket machines ready for use in Munich

From the end of this year inhabitants, commuters and visitors of the Bavarian capital will experience an innovation. Like many other cities, Munich faces the challenge of offering sufficient and above all well-organised parking space for all the cars moving on the streets between the centre and the suburbs of the metropolitan region. The management of the parking ticket machines shall meet highest quality standards and be as efficient as possible in terms of acquisition and operation. In search of a successor product the department of civil engineering was convinced by a solution from Hectronic and in early July gave the order for 1,465 Citea parking ticket machines.

By the end of 2019, the city centre of Munich will gradually be equipped with the parking ticket machine Citea. The parking ticket machines are flexibly adapted to the needs and requirements of the city administration and to local circumstances. The machines are operated via an LCD display, which is convenient and self-explanatory for the user. The parking ticket machines meet one of the highest security levels and are equipped with state-of-the-art communication technology (4G-modem). In terms of colour, the city of Munich opted for an elegant dark grey which can be perfectly integrated into the cityscape.

The cross-platform management software, CityLine, supplements the performance spectrum of the machines and allows for efficient parking management. The real-time surveillance of the machines ensures better responsiveness. Each warning or fault message is displayed immediately and transmitted to service staff via the mobile application. In the long run the use of CityLine allows to analyse and therefore optimise service assignments and collection drives. Furthermore, CityLine supplies valuable indicators for tariff design and development.

We are proud that apart from Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg the next German city now counts on technology from Hectronic.” Tilo Krebs, Head of Sales Parking Division.
