Hectronic: More Payment Options For Lisbon

Lisbon is known for its stunning historic center, which has been tastefully complemented by Hectronic parking meters in gentian blue for many years – a color that harmoniously blends into the iconic cityscape.

Together with our partner Soltráfego, we are continuously expanding the payment options at our meters. This ongoing development demonstrates the flexibility and forward-thinking nature of our parking solutions.

Soon, drivers in Lisbon and other cities like Faro will be able to pay with MBWAY – the most popular mobile payment service in Portugal. Over 94% of the population uses MBWAY in their everyday life – so the integration into our meters was the logical next step.

Our colleagues Marcela and Clemens were recently on site to participate in the first live tests of this new feature. In the coming months, over 1,200 parking meters in Lisbon will support MBWAY payments.

We are proud to provide people in Portugal with a modern, familiar, and seamless payment option directly at the vending machine.
