Patience paves the way

Hectronic and India share their ways since the year 2000, when Hectronic relocated some of its software development to India.
Since then, a lot of time has passed and the company has meanwhile established an important mainstay on the subcontinent. This has been and still remains difficult, because Indian life proceeds at a different pace. Everything takes plenty of time, the Indians think in a another way than we do, says Sales Manager Christian Guttmann who spent several months in India.

However, we are getting ahead step by step. Another three subsidiaries have been established in Mumbay, Chennai and Delhi in the middle of 2008. Even the head office in Bangalore had become too small, so that the search for a new and bigger headquarters began. With success. On December the 1st, they moved into the new domicile. It is located in an industrial area in Bangalore which is easy to reach and closer to the airport than the previous one. Apart from the offices, the 400 square meters also provide the possibility of the imperative stock keeping.

There have been personnel changes as well. The new chief executive officer is Hemant Dahale, a native who knows how to deal with his fellow countrymen. This is very important for major invitations to tender as well as minor commercial operations in the private sector, to which Hectronic will pay special attention in future. A bus depot has for example been equipped with the PetroPoint automatic vehicle recognition system and a construction company uses the mobile version of the fuel terminal TA 2331on its tanker trucks. A further main element to the Indian puzzle is the fact that a local producer of petrol pumps has been found. Christian Guttmann says: Together with this company, we build a special HECPUMP for the Indian market.

We are progressing in India, although the steps are occasionally shorter than expected. However, Hectronic India is gradually expanding, the objective is definite: The company intends to realise a quarter of all of its foreign sales on the subcontinent in future.
