Meerbusch-based company Schweers/PanStreet has unveiled an AI-powered drone system designed to assist local authorities in monitoring parking violations with unprecedented speed and efficiency.

The system leverages drone technology to conduct aerial monitoring of high-traffic areas, including bike lanes, no-parking zones, and restricted spaces. By automating the detection of common infractions, the technology aims to:

By filming vertically from an altitude of roughly 80 meters, the drones identify vehicle placement while intentionally avoiding the capture of license plates or identifiable human faces. The technology functions as a detection tool, flagging potential violations for human review rather than issuing automated fines, ensuring it aligns with strict data protection standards.

The Path Ahead

While still in the development and pilot-phase stage, the system has already garnered interest from municipalities in Germany and abroad, including Düsseldorf and Perth.
