Park Your Truck on “Welt Der Wunder”: A Glimpse Into the Future of Logistics

The team behind the popular German science programme "Welt der Wunder" set out to answer this question and paid us a visit. The TV feature, which aired on 7 February, offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at Park Your Truck.

From Searching for Parking to Planning Your Break

The feature highlights one of the biggest challenges in the daily life of HGV drivers: the immense time pressure and the often futile search for a secure parking space to take their legally required rest periods.

This is where Park Your Truck comes in. Smart Charging for Long-Haul Operations

But a secure parking space is only the beginning. Our AI-powered route planning takes into account driving hours, battery status, topography and weather conditions, seamlessly integrating charging into the journey – so the driver doesn't notice a thing, except that the truck is fully charged after the break.

At the "Truckstopp Dreistern" site near Salzenforst, the feature demonstrates what is already possible today: tractor unit and e-trailer are charged simultaneously at a single charging point – twice 600 kilowatt hours. That means double the range in half the dwell time. Park Your Truck offers the only reservation system that can book both truck and trailer for a single charging point at once. Combined with a diesel tractor unit, the e-trailer saves around 40 to 50 per cent on fuel; paired with a battery-electric truck, it doubles the range – hub to hub.
