Axis Cameras Now With Embedded Parquery Smart Parking

Axis Communications’ 8th generation ARTPEC system-on-chip (SoC) powers deep-learning analytics on the edge. Axis partner Parquery developed a tailored application for cameras with those chips on the open Axis platform. Hence, Axis cameras can now be deployed with Parquery onboard, which harnesses the cameras’ processing power to analyze footage within themselves.

The embedded solution’s benefits to the end user are apparent: Firstly, data is processed close to where it is being generated, enabling processing at great speeds and volumes. Less bandwidth and storage requirements also mean fewer servers are needed. Thus, cutting the cost and improving scalability compared to on-premise servers.
