The University of Arizona is adopting the Passport Parking mobile app to enable drivers to pay for on-campus parking. The Passport Parking app, which is replacing the PayByPhone app at the university, is an alternative to pay-station kiosks and makes it easy to pay for parking with a phone.

Users can download the Passport Parking app on iOS or Android and create an account with payment information. Through the app, drivers can easily start a parking session and will receive a notification when the session is ending with the option to extend the time remotely.

At the University of Arizona, we are always looking for ways to be more tech-forward and provide a better customer experience. Additionally, the Passport system will allow our campus partners to validate their customer’s parking. This is a huge step forward for us,” said Jim Sayre, Executive Director, University of Arizona. “Passport has been a great partner in our endeavors and we anticipate that the Passport Parking app will grow to be the primary way to pay for parking on campus.”

Passport is a major mobility payments provider in the City of Tucson. The GoTucson Parking app enables payments for on-street parking and the GoTucson Transit app allows users to purchase tickets for Sun Tran buses and Sun Link streetcar. Passport also powers the city’s digital parking permits and parking enforcement software.

We are excited to expand our offerings in Tucson with the introduction of Passport Parking to the University of Arizona campus,” said Andrew LaMothe, director of sales at Passport. “Now, people all over Tucson can pay for parking or buy transit tickets with their phones.”

The Passport Parking app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at passportparking.com.
