PowerGo and E.ON Celebrate With Free EV Charging

Good start of the fall break.

CPOs PowerGo and E.ON Drive Infrastructure celebrated the opening of their new ultra-fast charging hub.

On October 11, PowerGo and E.ON Drive Infrastructure celebrated the opening of their new ultra-fast charging hub at Lillebælt Syd with free charging for EV drivers.

CPOs PowerGo and E.ON Drive Infrastructure celebrated the opening of their new ultra-fast charging hub at Lillebælt Syd in Denmark by offering free charging for electric vehicles.

“The opening celebration is the highlight of a close collaboration we have had with PowerGo. The green transition requires us as CPOs to work together and share knowledge to ensure that EV drivers ultimately have the best conditions for charging their cars.” - Morten Hersoug, CEO at E.ON Drive Infrastructure

Earlier this year, both operators won tenders with the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) and were given the opportunity to expand their network of public charging stations with the ultra-fast charging location at Lillebælt Syd along the Danish highway E20.

Although they didn’t collaborate on the tendering or construction of their charging hubs, they have continuously shared knowledge and visions. As a result, both operators have focused on installing user-friendly charging stations and have set up a large digital price sign showing both operators’ real-time charging prices.

E.ON Drive Infrastructure opened two ultra-fast charging hubs at Lillebælt – both northbound and southbound – with a total of 30 charging points. PowerGo has opened one ultra-fast charging hub at Lillebælt Syd, with 14 charging points.

“E.ON’s green ambitions align with those of PowerGo, making them the perfect neighbours. We are also proud to offer ultra-fast charging at one of Denmark’s busiest traffic hubs. Ultra-fast charging is crucial for the electrification of the transport sector and will make it more attractive for Danes to choose electric vehicles.” Ivo van Dam, CEO of PowerGo

As with the rest of PowerGo’s and E.ON Drive Infrastructure’s charging locations, EV drivers can charge with the certainty of green electricity. Both operators work with certified green electricity, ensuring that the electricity in the operators’ public networks comes from clean energy sources.

In addition to free charging of electric cars, visitors passing by Lillebælt Syd on Friday could enjoy a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate while charging.
