projekt w: INTEGRA-pw - A Proven Vehicle Impact Barrier Solution for Car Parks Across Europe

- Salzkotten, Germany
One of the Key Strengths of INTEGRA-pw Lies in Its Adaptability to Varying National Requirements.

For over 30 years, projekt w – Systeme aus Stahl GmbH has been developing and manufacturing INTEGRA-pw, a modular vehicle impact barrier system designed for use in car parks, logistics facilities, and transport hubs. Today, the system is successfully installed at more than 1,500 locations across Europe, setting benchmarks in safety and flexibility.

Designed for Europe-Wide Application

One of the key strengths of INTEGRA-pw lies in its adaptability to varying national requirements. Across Europe, vehicle impact protection standards differ significantly in terms of load assumptions and testing conditions.

Through continuous development and regular full-scale impact testing, projekt w ensures that INTEGRA-pw meets these diverse requirements and can be reliably applied across different markets.

Meeting Diverse European Standards

Different countries define vehicle impact loads in different ways. For example:

  • Eurocode (EN 1991-1-7 / EN 1991-1-1)

Requires impact protection for vehicles up to 2.5 t and 3.5 t at 10 km/h

  • Germany (DIN standards for parking structures)

Requires protection for vehicles up to 3.0 t, which is equivalent to an impact load of 40 kN

  • United Kingdom & Austria (BS 6399-1 / ÖNORM)

Require protection for vehicles up to 2.5 t and 3.5 t at 16 km/h

  • Switzerland (SIA 261)

Requires protection for vehicles up to 3.5 t with an impact load of 60 kN

Modular System for Different Load Categories

INTEGRA-pw is designed as a modular system that can be configured according to specific project requirements and load classes:

  • INTEGRA-pw 0.1 – fall protection for pedestrian areas, mezzanines, and walkways
  • INTEGRA-pw 2.5 – vehicle impact protection up to 2.5 t
  • INTEGRA-pw 3.0 – vehicle impact protection up to 3.0 t
  • INTEGRA-pw 3.5 – vehicle impact protection up to 3.5 t

This modular approach allows planners and engineers to select the appropriate system configuration depending on national standards, building requirements, and load conditions.

Proven Safety Through Testing and Certification

All INTEGRA-pw systems are developed, tested, and manufactured at projekt w’s headquarters in Salzkotten, Germany. Extensive impact testing simulates real-life collision scenarios and ensures compliance with European standards.

With more than 140 full-scale crash tests and official approvals, including German building authority certification, INTEGRA-pw delivers verified safety performance in demanding environments.

A Reliable Solution for Modern Infrastructure

With its combination of modular design, certified safety, and adaptability to international standards, INTEGRA-pw provides a future-proof solution for modern parking structures and mobility hubs.
