In the rapidly evolving urban landscape of Tel Aviv, space is becoming an increasingly scarce commodity. As new buildings rise, the challenge of accommodating the influx of vehicles becomes more pronounced. This is where Technoso steps in, offering a solution that not only addresses the immediate parking needs but also scales with the changing demands of the city.
Challenges in Urban Parking
In the bustling heart of Tel Aviv, a big parking group faced a pressing parking dilemma. Traditional parking methods were proving inadequate for the diverse needs of subscribers, short-term parkers, and guests visiting the companies in the buildings. Visitors often found themselves lost in the parking lot, unable to locate their vehicles, leading to congestion and increased frustration. The absence of dynamic pricing meant that prime parking spots, such as those near the elevator, were frequently occupied, leaving latecomers with less convenient options. Additionally, unauthorized parking in reserved spots was a recurring issue, with no efficient system in place to alert management of such violations. The challenge was evident: There was a dire need for a modern, efficient, and user-friendly parking solution.
The solution provided was ticketless terminals that work for both the subscribers, short-term parkers, and guests visiting the companies in the buildings. We created an integration with a PGS (Parking Guidance System) made by Indect. The Indect PGS has built-in LPR cameras over every single parking spot. This integration allows customers to type in their license plate number in the pay station after payment and see details and photos regarding where their vehicle is parked. It also allows for dynamic pricing so that certain parking spots can be charged for differently; for example, spots closer to the elevator can be more expensive.
It also allows customers to reserve parking spots, and if someone else parks there, it immediately sends a notification to management. There are also many other solutions that can be developed with the system already in place.
Scalability in Action
The true potential of Technoso’s system lies in its scalability. A prime example is the Big Fashion Mall in Ashdod. Initially, they purchased two cameras from Technoso to monitor traffic flow. However, when a new train station opened nearby, mall parking became a prime target for station-goers looking for free parking. Technoso’s solution? Integrate the existing cameras with terminals and gates, transforming the lot into a ticketless parking system with an almost %100 accurate License Plate Recognition (LPR). The beauty of this solution was that the mall could upgrade its system without purchasing new cameras.
A Future-Proof Investment
Technoso’s first parking lot, installed in 2017, began with basic license plate recognition capabilities. Today, it boasts the company’s most advanced software, all running on the original hardware. This longevity underscores Technoso’s promise: invest once in their hardware and enjoy the benefits of continuous software upgrades without the need for additional hardware purchases.
Clients pay a regular retainer for cloud services, which includes a suite of updates and software models. Every new feature developed is automatically rolled out to customers. Traditional parking systems are often viewed as a 10-year investment or less, after which the hardware becomes obsolete. Technoso challenges this norm by offering timeless hardware and a diverse range of service and payment options, the future is in the software.
Big Data Insights
Technoso’s system also provides invaluable insights through big data analytics. Clients can gauge revenue, traffic flow, and demand patterns during significant events, such as pandemics, natural disasters, holidays, and major events. This data-driven approach empowers businesses to make informed decisions swiftly.
Technoso isn’t just about providing a parking solution; it’s about offering value that extends well beyond the initial investment. When pitted against competitors based on Return on Investment (ROI), Technoso consistently emerges as the top choice, thanks to the unparalleled value it delivers relative to its cost.
