WPS Wins Contract in Spelthorne Borough Council, Including Elmsleigh Shopping Centre

WPS UK has secured a new contract with Spelthorne Borough Council for the implementation of our latest ParkAdvance+ parking technology. The project includes the upgrade of two parking locations in Staines-upon-Thames: a surface lot and a multi-storey car park (MSCP), offering a combined capacity of around 900 spaces. Both facilities are directly connected to the Elmsleigh Shopping Centre, a key retail destination in the area with over 50 shops.

This win is a strategic milestone for WPS, demonstrating our position as a provider of future-ready, sustainable parking solutions. The new setup will replace the previous system with a ticketless, paperless approach based on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), offering users a smoother and more convenient parking experience. Additionally, our system integrates with the borough-wide Variable Message System (VMS) to guide drivers to available spaces in real-time.

The new solution was selected after a competitive tender process in which WPS stood out for its balance of innovation, cost-efficiency, and sustainability. Key features include:

• Digital payments, including seamless integration with the RingGo app (EasyPark Group)
• No paper tickets, reducing waste and operational hassle
• Scalability, allowing the system to grow with future needs
• Improved user experience for visitors, residents, and retailers in the Elmsleigh area

With this project, WPS is not only supporting Spelthorne’s climate goals, but also helping boost accessibility to one of the borough’s busiest shopping areas. The project includes a five-year service and cloud hosting contract, with the potential to expand to other Spelthorne-managed sites in the future.
